RAD spaces

This weekend I was able to work a bit on organizing my place (which it's in serious need of ), and naturally before doing so I went to Pinterest to look up some organizational inspiration. A good hour plus later (as all Pinterest searches end up being a total time suck), I found some great small space living ideas which totally make me want to DIY everything in my apartment now (never gonna happen), but also, in doing so, I realized I haven't posted any rad space inspiration as of late either. So here's a few spaces I'm loving recently - these are heavy on the minimum-space-maximum-impact vibe, since I love that half-table accent and that cork board wall. Happy spacing!

ART love

It's been a hot minute since I posted some of my favorite art of the moment, but fear not, I got you covered.

I've been really loving Joan Cornelia's work lately - it's super strange, but it's so addicting. His Instagram is one of my favorite follows - it never disappoints.

I've also been working on a little project of my own, which I'll do a separate post on later, but it includes a lot of David Bowie designs and a lot of stickers. So so many stickers. And I guess a lot of Philly bathrooms too ;)

But in the meantime, enjoy some fresh art inspiration via Pinterest below. Happy weekend!

WEEKLY inspirations

A short and sweet post today since this week FLEW by and I still have so much I want to get done - because hell if I'm going to do any work on Saturday or Sunday ;) Have a great weekend!

What I'm digging this week (in no particular order):

  • ALL of these amazing vegetable recipes
  • Love the rose gold choppy bob thing that girl has going on.
  • Cinderella Nikes.
  • This delicious and easy chickpea, avocado, and feta salad I'm definitely going to make.
  • This adorable bathmat
  • This blackberry cocktail and this rosemary cocktail.
  • The super cool functional art of Tania da Cruz (love love that head vase).
  • I'm a big fan of the Frenchie Bulldog brand (as seen here, and here, and here, and here, and here), and they just kicked off a line of hoodies! I already scooped up this one for Olive (30% off!), and am debating on getting this one for Sebastien too.
  • Everything about this look - from the hair to the tattoos to the shorts (even though I'm very anti-shorts), is on point.
  • Awesome DIY shoe rack.

TATTOO stuffs

I finally got around to getting my new tattoo (quite a few months later than expected, but as always, life gets in the way), and it's almost fully healed enough that I can take some photos and it doesn't look like a giant disgusting scab still. And trust me, it was a giant disgusting scab for a while. I'll definitely need to get it touched up soon, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome! My bestie Em is getting the same one on her forearm soon (but in color, which will look great), so I'm really excited to see them together once she takes the plunge. Here's a few shots of the design in action:

I've also been in the midst of designing some bigger and more intricate pieces for my upper arm and assorted blank spaces on my lower forearm  (which will eventually - hopefully - become a sleeve at some point), which has been an ongoing effort. I think the hardest part of getting a tattoo isn't actually getting it, it's designing it - especially when you're a graphic designer who redesigns everything 30 times over. There's also so many beautiful pieces out that that inspire me, it's hard to try and come up with a cohesive design that incorporates a little bit of everything you want. Here's some recent Pinterest pieces I've been coveting big-time:

P.S. If you have any ideas or pieces you think I'd like - I'd love to see them! I'm always making inspiration boards full of great graphics and designs that I draw inspiration from all the time.

WEEKLY inspirations

I'm finally getting back into the swing of things since January has been insanely busy, and I'm looking forward to doing a few posts a week again. I've been working on quite a few design projects on the side as of late, which has really been giving me a ton of inspiration - not only in my designs, but in other areas too (like getting new tattoos, making new recipes, and rearranging my apt.) I'm looking forward to doing a fair amount of nothing this weekend, which will be great since the last two weekends were crammed with events.

So here's what I'm digging this week (in no particular order):

  • I've been having a major crush on celestial art lately. I just love the contrast of white and gold against dark black so much.
  • This healthy + quick vanilla sprinkle cake recipe.
  • Pretty pretty ranunculus flowers.
  • Love this black and white image of Brigette Bardot and her white sunglasses.
  • This elderflower gin + tonic recipe sounds amazing.
  • Stripes on stripes with a pop of red - this graphic is everything I love.
  • Casual gray + black attire forever.
  • Big ol' pile of colorful pillows.
  • Those extremely fancy + delicious looking donuts.

HELLO 2016

Well well well, look who's here. 2015 flew right by, and 2016 is here to let me know I'm getting old and will be turning 30 this year. Joy. But overall, 2015 was a great year of change, and I hope 2016 will bring health, happiness, and success to everyone who works for it. Now that I'm back to my normal blogging schedule (sorry for the extended holiday - but I needed it!), I look forward to adding a few new categories to the mix, and updating a few old. But for now...

Here's what I'm digging this week (in no particular order):

  • Vintage + modern spaces.
  • Monochromatic + chic style.
  • Simple + complex line tattoos.
  • Everything on toast.
  • This recipe for spicy roasted cashews.
  • Blonde blonde hair with black black eyeliner.
  • Pink + gold + black color pops.

WEEKLY inspirations

Eek - I can't believe it's Christmas in t-minus four days! This month flew by so fast, I didn't even have time to post my yearly gift guides! I'm also super behind on having all my gifts ready - though I think after tonight's last shop-stop, I should be ready to wrap everything and call it a day (or year, rather). It's been a weird December since the weather has been so warm, so I'm missing (and dare I say longing for) that winter snow and holiday chill - but either way, this is what I've been loving the last few weeks. Cheers!

What I'm digging this week (in no particular order):

  • Crazy pretty party hair tutorial (that of course makes me not want to chop my hair)
  • Cute cocktail glasses.
  • This Pozole Rojo recipe I am dying to make.
  • Oversized (and very warm) coats.
  • Jennifer Lawrence's new hair cut (even though I find her annoying)
  • Cool geo/pop art nails.
  • This Rosemary Infused Cocktail recipe.
  • This wall decal that I'm totally buying myself for Christmas. I mean, how could I not?
  • Cute little living space.
  • An unbelievably gorgeous flower curtain installation.
  • Kinda love this Subway Stalking style post.

THANKSGIVING IS HERE! Probably tied for my favorite holiday (other favorite being Halloween, naturally), Thanksgiving is a true American holiday, in the best, most gluttonous way possible. One of the few times a year I get to eat stuffing (I have no idea why we don't eat stuffing more, besides the fact that it's literally just carbs and fat on a plate) - plus, there's nothing more fun than hanging out with family (and friends!) and just eating a crap ton of food ON PURPOSE. I'm also pretty excited to have a four day weekend, and hopefully do some Black Friday/Cyber Monday online shopping for all my holiday gifts (I dare not actually leave the house on Black Friday - I'm not that brave). Here's to a fantastic short week, perfect November weather, and most importantly, STUFFING.

SO. MUCH. STUFFING.

What I'm digging this week (in no particular order):

  • EATING ALL THE SOUPS. Especially noodle soups lately.
  • The amazing smelling spiced cider candle I picked up is perfect for this time of year.
  • Dark blonde hair for wintertime.
  • All leather outfits - a la Gigi Hadid.
  • Very cool skull planters (love them with those cacti).
  • These very pretty "starburst" style rings.
  • This cool touchscreen cleaner - perfect gift holiday gift for a tech geek.
  • Mixing textures for winter layers, like sleek leather and chunky cable knits.
  • This adorable little gold moon phase dish.
  • Looking forward to walking in the beautiful park near my parent's house with my dogs post-Thankgiving feast (and pre-second Thanksgiving feast later that night, of course)
